Carp Fishing Rigs

Carp Fishing Rigs

There are a hug variety of Carp fishing rigs available, but which one is right for which situation? The most common Carp fishing rigs are those such as the hair rig, the helicopter rig, popup rig, and running rig. However, the most common Carp fishing rigs are not the only Carp fishing rigs out there... there are literally hundreds of them!

The Carp fishing rig you use depends on the situation, location, and of course the bait. For example, if you are fishing a very weedy water, popup rigs with popup bollies are normally a favourite. This means that the Carp fishing rig with sit above, or further up the weed, thus tempting more Carp to your bait. Carp fishing rigs are a tricky thing to master, but with practice you will become an expert in making, and knowing when to use the right Carp fishing rig.

The hair rig is probably the most popular Carp fishing rig. The bait is threaded onto a 'hair' which is a small thread hanging behind the hook. This ensures that when a Carp sucks in the bait, the hook is left free and uncovered. When the Carp spits out the bait, the hook should automatically place itself on the Carps mouth. The hair rig is such a popular rig because it is so easy to make, and works so very well.

There are so many Carp fishing rigs to look at that it's impossible to list them all in a single post. We will however be going through each rig in more depth, so keep your eyes peeled for those Carp fishing rig posts!
